Annie Le, a graduate student in Yale’s pharmacology program, was 24 years old and was set to marry her high school sweet heart Jonathan on September 13th. However Annie disappeared on September 8th, she was last seen entering a medical research building. Yale University announced a $10,000 reward for anyone with information on her disappearance. Police found bloody clothing stored in a drop ceiling, they were not Le’s clothing, but police are still trying to determine who’s blood is on the clothing. September 15th the day Le is suppose to get married police discover her bloody body inside a wall, of the basement of the medical building where she was last seen. The medical research building is a secure area with security cameras everywhere, with access codes needed to enter different locations (the basement being one of the locations). Police have looked at more than 600 hours of video surveillance footage of those five days for clues to what could have happened to Le, they have also interviewed over 100 coworkers of Le’s . No one has been charged as of this time for the murder of Le, but they do have a person of interest, Yale University employee Raymond Clark. Clark who does work at the medical research building and has access to the basement, was brought in for questioning and sentenced with a search warrant for his home and body, he has been released for the time being. Police have no other leads at this time, they do not believe that this was random they think that there is a connection to Le and why she was murdered. This is an open case and is still being investigated since it just happened last week.
My heart goes out to Le’s family especially her fiancé, I have a fiancé as well and I plan on marrying my high school sweetheart too (his name happens to be Jonathan as well :/), but to plan that special day for so long, and then to find out the news that the person that you were suppose to spend the rest of your life with was murder on what was suppose to be your wedding day, that must be awful. I really don’t understand how this building which was suppose to be very secure and lock down, where you needed key cards to enter and cameras everywhere, how a camera couldn’t have caught something. When police reported that they found bloody clothing on September 12th I was wondering if this was going to be a case where a bride got cold feet and stage her own death and ran away, but three days later they did find her body.
