My topic this week isn’t really an argument, but it’s something that really pushes my buttons and I have to get it off my chest.
I don’t understand how you hit a parked car; I know it happens (It has happened to my car three times) I don’t understand how it happens. I have been driving for seven years now and never once hit a parked car, or ever hit another car period. What really amazes me is when the clumsy driver who runs into things that are not moving has the edacity to leave the scene of the crime; because that is exactly what it is now a crime scene because you have vandalized someone else’s property. You have just turned yourself into a criminal because you have left the scene of the crime. What is going through that persons mind before they up and leave the scene behind? I surely hope they were not thinking because they hit a nice luxury SUV that the other driver can afford to fix their car themselves. Because that is not justice or that might not be the case, they do not know the other drivers financial situations. I have always been raised that your actions have consequences and that you must take responsibility for your actions. People who cannot man up to their mistakes are cowards. The really ironic thing is when it happens on a college campus, the student thinks they are trying to make something of themselves by furthering their education and getting a degree; but in actuality they can’t take responsibility for their actions and they make someone else take care of cleaning up their mess, they are the same irresponsible child they were before they attend college and no piece of paper is going to change that.
So I guess what I am trying to say is I think it is so wrong and I see no reason for anyone to do this to anyone, but people do it all the time. I really wish someone who has done it (left the scene of the crime) could tell me why, what is their motive? I mean I know it would piss them off if someone turn around and did it to them. I have never done it to anyone and will never do it to, I have always been the victim……… Have you ??

I totally agree with you. Having been a victim myself from an arogant driver. I use to work at the York Hospital, and before the new garage, I had to park on a street behind it. I came out one night, couldn't see a thing, got in my car and drove away. The next day I came out and went to get when I saw a huge scrape, long and wide, the whole way down my old truck. I knew it was from parking the night before because no one could hit me down in my driveway. When you get your license you are reminded that driving is a privelege, not a right. A privelege involves responsibility. If you can't be deemed responisble on all aspects of driving, then don't do it. If you hit a mailbox, or hit a parked car, or even a pedestrian, you need to man up and accept the consequences. Case closed. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the sun!
ReplyDeleteWow thats some pretty bad luck. I unfortionatly kno were you are coming from. After a returned from Iraq in 2007, I spent a nice bet of my hard earned money, on a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer, yeah its not quit a BMW, but i take pride in it. So not to long after i got my new car, I had a stream of bad luck you could say.. I got backed into, while driving through a sheetz parking lot. Passanger door all but taken off by a truck haha, that would of been my friends fault. Well what in getting to is I have had six accedents sence i got the car, and only one of them, I was at falt for. One being a hit an run, Dammon's parking lot, on a monday night. Someone had swong open there car door, witch hit my car, and left some nice damage. So yeah i know exacctly what your talking about. Its just to easy to run away. Rather then leaving your info, or manning up to your actions. But hey its just a 500 dollar right... not like i didnt need that money for something else. But what are you gonna do, ya know. I belive what goes around comes around.
ReplyDeleteI have never had this happen to me but me and my boyfriend where at Wal-Mart one time and some older women knocked his mirror off the car while trying to back into a parking spot and she was kind enough to leave her information inside the broken part of the mirror with her name and number so we could call her and the insurance. We were very lucky to have someone that left there information for us. But I really don’t understand how people cannot see a park car a mean come on if you can’t see a parked car they should you really be driving?
